The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)
CDBS provides basic dental services to children. Dental services are capped at $1026 over 2 consecutive calendar years.
Dental services covered include:
- Examinations
- X-rays
- Cleaning
- Fissure Sealing
- Fillings
- Root Canals
- Extractions
- Partial Dentures
To be eligible for the CDBS, the patient must:
- Be aged 2 to 17 years for at least 1 day of the calendar year
- Be eligible for Medicare
- Receive, or be part of a family receiving, certain Australian Government payments
DentiCare

Case Study 1:
Mr Smith is interested in an implant to replace a missing front tooth. After consulting with one of the dentists, his total treatment plan is $5600. He does not want to pay the full amount up-front, and would like to go on a fortnightly payment plan for a period of 24 weeks (approximately 6 months).Â
High Dental’s receptionist helped Mr Smith to apply for DentiCare. The suggested plan is to place a 20% deposit of $1120 to secure his treatment then pay $373.33 every fortnight for a total of 24 weeks. Mr Smith was happy with this and decided to proceed with the plan. Once his DentiCare application was approved, he was able to receive treatment immediately. He will now pay $373.33 every fortnight and by the end of 24 weeks, he would have completely paid off his implant treatment.

SmileNow by DentiCare
SmileNow is an alternative payment solution also offered by DentiCare. It is ideal for smaller treatments ranging from $250 to $2000.Â

- Receive treatment now but pay later in weekly or fortnightly instalments
- Payment plan term of 12 to 20 weeks
Total Lifestyle Credit (TLLC)
TLC allows you to access funds of up to $50,000 to finance major dental treatments.
Benefits to you:
- Receive funds from $2,001 to $50,000Â
- Receive funds within 48 hours from time of application submission
- Flexible terms of up to 84 monthsÂ
- Protected by consumer credit lawsÂ

Access Your Superannuation
Access My Super facilitates the early release of superannuation for a wide range of dental related treatments, including but not exclusive to dental implants, dentures, general dental, crowns and many more.
Case Study 2:
Mrs Smith has lost all her upper teeth. She would like to replace all her upper teeth with implants. After consulting with one of the dentists, her treatment plan is $26000. Mrs Smith is unable to pay the full amount up-front and needs help with financing. The following payment plan was proposed:Â
- $9000 from DentiCare which is to be paid back in monthly instalments over a period of 24 months
- Early access to $17000 from her superannuation
Once the above applications were approved, Mrs Smith used her superannuation to place a 20% deposit of $5200 to secure her treatment and was able to start the journey to restoring her smile immediately. She will now pay DentiCare $375 every month for a period of 24 months. The remaining $11800 will be paid from her superannuation funds as she receives treatment.Â
